Randomness!

First off, here's a picture of my beautiful Mother's Day flowers!  And, can you believe that they are still alive?!
Second off, it has been a GORGEOUS day here today!  We went over to my parents and swam for a little bit and then came home and played outside all evening!

I think Harli is in her official "puppy" stage now.  She's played more today then she has in the week we've had her!
How redneck does my child look?  Obviously we don't believe in fully clothing our children!
hehe, I should've put pants on him before I decided to take pictures!
Landry was SO excited, his precious girlfriend Ella came over to see him!

They actually came over so she could bring my order to take the 3 hour glucose test next week! That's right, I failed the 1 hour.  Yeah!! Go me!

Addison and Harli still aren't friends, but hopefully they will be someday!
Can you see me?
Sweet baby Ella
Is she not the cutest?
Silly little girl still won't crawl!
And I just thought I'd throw in a picture of my hibiscus! I love it!
Sorry this was such a totally random post, but I feel like I haven't taken pictures in forever!

Hope everyone is looking forward to their weekend!

Wishlist Wednesday / A New Post!!

Okay, so the only thing I really, really, (really) want is nice legs.  I do not have nice legs to begin with, but pregnancy does not help them any!  Take yesterday for instance, it only got to like 74 outside, but my ankles were so swollen they looked like cantaloupes.  Believe you me, it is NOT attractive.  So, by asking for nice legs, is that too much?  I think not.

Side note:  Yesterday I went for my 1 hour glucose test and to get my RHogam shot.  First off let me tell you that that stupid shot hurt worse this time then the 30 other times I've got it (well, maybe not 30, but I've had a bunch of them!)  And when I say it hurt... it HURT!

Anywho, I know that I'm huge.  Literally, HUGE.  Not just pregnant huge.  HOWEVER, I do not, I repeat, I DO NOT need you to tell me how huge I am.

Example 1:  dude who drew my blood the 2nd time says "oh, so you're going to have your baby today?"  me, "uh, no.  I'm not due til August"  blood dude, "oh, I just thought you were here to have the baby."

Example 2:  I'm up in labor & delivery (which may I add, there are like 15 nurses standing at the nurses counter and they all turn around and stare at me like I'm an alien or something...way to make a girl feel welcome!)  so they give my shot to the nurse and I sit down to wait for someone to poke it into my rear.  A janitor, that's right, a janitor see's me and says, "dang girl, they better hurry up and put you in a room" I just stared at him.  I mean, what was I supposed to say?

Example 3:  After finally getting said shot in my rear, I was waiting at the elevators (which took forever to get to the floor) and a nurse comes and waits beside me.  She says, "if these elevators don't hurry, they're gonna have to just keep you here." All I do is go "ha ha."  She says "oh, are you not due?"  me, "nope, not til August" her, "oh."

That's right, I'm obviously a hippo.

Okay, back to topic.

The other item on my wishlist, is Ansley's nursery.  I have done NOTHING for her nursery.  Mom and me did get her fabric though and I absolutely LOVE it!
This is a sample of some of the colors on an actual quilt, we only got 4 different designs.
Right now, her nursery is full of Landry's outgrown clothes, toys and now his/her crib seeing as how Landry's in his BIG BOY BED!!!! (more on that to come!)

I was gonna wish for a swimsuit. But.... I ordered one this weekend!
Ta-da!!
And, Big Daddy has been pressuring me to get Landry a puppy.  I however did NOT agree.
So, remember how we had to put my shop dog to sleep?  I told dad that I wanted a boxer!  So the next day, he got me a boxer!  So this is Harli Sue!!  Then we kinda found out that boxer's aren't really watch dogs, but more of a family/kid dog!  She's just so litte (for the time being) so dad let me take her home this weekend so she wasn't by herself.
And he's let me take her home every nite too! Right now, she's kinda *very* lazy, but she LOVES Landry and he gets so excited when he sees her!  I'm hoping this trend continues, I get her at the shop and take her home in the afternoons, so I don't have a puppy eating and destroying my entire yard!!

This past Sunday, my friend Savanna's cousin had a Thirty-One party!! So while I was gone doing that, Terry & the boys came over and brougth their bouncy house!  Then they all went and got a kiddy pool and a slip and slide!  Chris kept sending me pictures (on his new i-phone!!) to show me what Landry was doing!
This one's my favorite!
Landry wanted Grammy to put a clip in his hair the other day and refused to let us take it out!  Needless to say his daddy wasn't that impressed when he got home!
On the 31 front, my sis in law had a party at the school a few weeks ago and it was a bust.  But Chelsea's party (from Sunday) is going GREAT!!  She plans to close it out on Friday and so far has $523 in sales which means she so far has earned $156 in FREE products!!

I need to take a picture of Landry's big boy bed with the comforters and stuff on it to show you.  It turned out fabulously!!  Once he falls asleep, he does great, but sometimes it's a fight to get him to sleep!  Granted it's only been 3 days and last nite, he did great going to bed alone!  And he woke up really happy since me and Harli went in there and she attacked him with kisses!!

Hope everyone is having a great spring!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! And what a wonderful one it has been! Chris has to work at the station today, so yesterday morning we celebrated a little early and him and Landry treated me to breakfast at IHOP!  It was delicious, I seriously ate so much food I thought I was going to be sick!  We had a great time though and I really enjoyed it with my two guys!  We had some friends come over last nite and Chris smoked some ribs and we had corn on the cob, macaroni salad, potato salad and rolls.  I'm pretty sure I gained 12 lbs yesterday alone.  It was so worth it though, Landry of course put on a show for them, he always likes when Savanna comes over so he can show off for her!

The past few days Landry's nose has been a faucet.  It's horrible.  Then all nite last nite, he coughed and coughed and coughed.  I'm pretty sure we'll be going BACK to the dr. this week.  Poor kid's allergies are awful.

On another Mother's Day note, when I got up this morning, I found a mix bouquet of flowers and two sweet cards (one from Big Daddy and one from the 3 kids, *Landry, Ansley, & Addison)  The flowers are gorgeous and the cards are seriously so sweet, I cried.  Landry even colored on the kids card for me.  Chris had bought it all yesterday and set it all out this morning for me to find.  I am so blessed by my little family.  I truly couldn't ask for anything better in life.  This time next year miss Ansley will here too!  And I'll have another pretty face to kiss and say thank you to!

Here's a mother's poem I received the other day, and I just think it's great, hope you enjoy it too!

Mother's

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
They don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn't come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don't want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up...
Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, 'Because I love you best.'
Real Mothers know that a child's growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade...
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother.....

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!

8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesnt know everything!

14 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother? She wouldnt have a clue.

.16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's so five minutes ago.

18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!

25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!

35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.

45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?

65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
Shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Isn't that sweet?  I believe Mother's day is like Valentine's day, you should celebrate with the ones you love on a daily basis, not just on a specified day.  However, for my sweet hubby and kiddos to think of me, melts my heart.  So babe, thank you so much for my breakfast, flowers and sweet card.  I love you so much and am so thankful for you, you have no idea!  I LOVE YOU!!

To my mom, you are truly the best mom in the world.  Not only are you a mom, but my best friend.  I love you more than anything and am so grateful for all you do for us.
Landry is so lucky to have you as his Grammy and I'm so blessed to call you mom.

Another shout out to my aunt Diane, who is not only a great mom, but it's her birthday as well! So happy birthday and happy mother's day Diane!!

And last but not least, to my cousin Kim.  Baby Chloe will be here very soon!  I hope you enjoy this mother's day, next year you will have that sweet baby to hold in your arms!  We're so happy for y'all and can't wait to meet that pretty girl!

Show us your life - Children's Names

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

Kelly's Show Us Your Life Friday this week is all about children's names!
So here we go...

Landry Wyatt
To say that it took us forever to name our first born is an understatement.  It honest to goodness took us forever! I was honestly afraid that he wouldn't have a name when he was born! Chris and I could not agree on anything.   When I was growing up, we always played a "game" where we'd right out something (like our full name) and then try to come up with as many words as possible out of that.  So that's what I did.

Christopher Garland + Tori Dawn

I took LAND from Chris' middle name and the RI (changed to ry for a boy) and came up with Landry.  It took a long time for Chris to agree.
As soon as we started telling people his name, all we heard was "oh, you named him after Tom Landry."  Well, I had no clue who Tom Landry was.  Though I learned that he was a really good football coach, so it's okay for people to think that I guess!

Chris always liked the name Wyatt, but I just couldn't get over calling him Wyatt Earp.  (courtesy of Chris, I've watched WAY too many westerns) I always wanted my maiden name for a boy's middle name, but finally agreed on using Wyatt for Landry's middle name.  I'm so glad we did, because I now love the name Wyatt!

Now, for the BIG announcement!!

ANSLEY DAWN
That's right, our little girl will be named Ansley Dawn!  We've known now for a long time that was her name but didn't want to announce it.
When I was pregnant with Landry we agreed on the name Ella if he was a girl.  Then we found out he was a boy, so we didn't really have to worry about it.  Then I heard the name Ainsley. (while still pregnant) I didn't really care for Ainsley because when saying it out loud reminds me of a really inappropriate body part!  But fell in love with Ansley!  I told Chris about it and he liked it as well!  Then our friends Emily and Aaron got pregnant and named their little girl Ella!!  So, I'll still have an Ella too (seeing as how her and Landry are getting married!)  When we ended up pregnant this time, I went all through names again and really liked several different ones (including Thomasina, seeing as how I didn't get my maiden name for the boy, but big daddy vetoed that one FAST!) and Chris finally told me no, that her name was Ansley!  Dawn is my middle name so that was always going to be a little girls middle name!

So there ya have it!  Were done with babies, so that's it!
Hope you like them!

My Yogi Baby

Well...
We had to put our shop lioness to sleep yesterday.

She's been having a lot of hip problems the past few months and about a month and a half ago kept acting lethargic and not really acting like herself.  We had our vet come to the shop and he wanted to do bloodwork and run some tests.  Turns out she had horrible arthritis which was causing her back legs so much pain she didn't want to stand on them.  Then when her bloodwork came back, it showed heartworms.

So he had her on some muscle relaxers for her hips and a strong medication to try to kill out some of the heartworms that hadn't completely formed yet and told us to watch her for a few weeks, then he'd come back and re-do the blood work and we'd start her on 2 rounds of arsenic to try to kill out the other forming heartworms.  He warned us though that the mature heartworms, we couldn't really do anything about and they would eventually kill her.

She did pretty good for a few weeks after that, especially with her muscle relaxers.  She even had days of being a "puppy."  Then all this week it went downhill.  We had her appointment scheduled for yesterday afternoon to recheck her.  But this week she had no energy and wouldn't even bend her back legs when she walked and hardly put any weight on her right hind leg.  Dad and me talked about not wanting her to suffer the next few months, especially with the arsenic.

Luckily I wasn't here yesterday afternoon when the vet came.  He told them that he would take her for the arsenic treatments because they are really hard on them (ya think? it's POISON!) and in order for her hips to feel any better that they would have to do surgery and work on them, but since her arthritis was so bad, it would be a temporary fix.  In the end, my brother Terry made the decision.  The nurse for the vet cried and cried (she's so sweet, when we had a little kitten show up at the shop with a broken leg and magled ear, she adopted her and still sends me pictures of "Charlotte").

So needless to say it was a really crappy situation.  And today is especially sucky because she always greeted me at my car, I would say "hello, my Yogi baby" and we'd come up to my office for the day.

With her summer lion haircut and her pretty bows
We dressed her up one day! I don't think she liked it!

Keep us all in your prayers, we've had Yogi a long time and it's gonna be a rough adjustment for us all.

Backroads, Blizzards, & Bears...Oh My!!

We came home today from a short little vaca in the mountains!!
We left Thursday morning with the knowledge that Cimmaron Canyon was on fire and the road from Cimmaron to Eagle's Nest was completely closed.  Which means we went the "back" way!
This is the smoke we could see from Wagon Mound.
By "back" roads, I mean this....
Granted only like 9 miles is dirt road, but it's not the greatest!  And then we ran into road work!  hehe, we followed him for a little while 'til he decided he was going to back up!  So we had to back up until he found a place to pull over!  It was fun times!
We did eventually make it though!  It started raining on us on the dirt road and by the time we hit Angel Fire, it had turned to snow!  Which means it was cold!  So we came in the cabin and all changed into warmer clothes!

Now I know by saying blizzard, this probably doesn't qualify, but the title was a little cuter with it!
This is Thursday early afternoon when we first got there and were headed into town for groceries.
This is the road coming back from the ski slopes, you literaly cannot see 1/2 mile in front of you it was snowing so hard!
This is what we came from from town to find!
This is on Friday morning after Landry got up, he LOVED seeing the animals!  He basically stood at the window all weekend!
Do you see the side of that deer?  They honest to goodness kick and fight each other to get to the seed.  It was chaos!  But isn't the little one cute!
More coming across the street
Going to town
There were Elk everywhere too! I honestly have never seen as much wildlife up there as I did this time, it was crazy!!
And.....
we had a bear.
Did you catch that?
We had a BEAR!!
Friday mid-morning all the deer in our yard just stopped and looked up the road and it was almost like they froze.  I say "I wonder what in the world they're looking at?"  Chris says "oh, it's probably a bear."  Hardy har har babe.  Seeing as how I am NOT a fan of bears, I do not find that funny in the least.  So a little while later we were heading to town and looked toward the direction the deer kept looking and Chris says "I was right, there's a bear!"  It was 2 cabins up from us digging in someone's garage!  It had found a bin full of sunflower seeds and had ripped it open in their driveway!
When we came back from the store, the bear which we though had run off, was across the street from us!
Eesh.

So we leave again for dinner in town and see more elk!
I'm tellin' ya, it was like living in a zoo all weekend!
So Friday nite, I had my back to the windows reading a book and Landry looks out the window, points and says "ahhhh."  I told him that wasn't funny that sometime when he did that there was going to be a bear outside the window.  I turn around and guess what was outside that said window?

That's right, this guy.
So I had a panic attack.
And finally called the police.
They told me not to worry about him as long as he wasn't bothering me.
Chris went outside and scared him, so he then decided to climb the tree!
After I calmed down, and everyone told me that he wasn't going to eat me for his dinner, I decided I better take the opportunity to take live-up close pictures of this guy.
Some pic's aren't that great since some of them are through the window or I had to lighten them up.

He kept staring at me.  I'll admit, it was freaky.

Trying to climb the tree again.
Friday nite we heard him on the porch after we went to bed and when we got up Saturday he had knocked off one of the cooking pan bird feeders off the porch.  But he was gone, so we figured we were done with the bear.

WRONG.

We went to town to get Chris a coke after Landry woke up and to see if we could find some more elk.

Instead... we find this guy at the cabin directly behind us!  That's right, he stayed right in the neighborhood all nite!
And when we got back to the cabin, he was there as well!
As scared of this guy as I was, ya got to admit he is really cute.
He kept trying to get on the porch, Landry got a huge kick out of that.
Mid afternoon on Saturday, he went across the street and we didn't see him again.
Except this morning when we got up, both the bird dishes had been knocked off, which means he had been back!!

This is the new country club!  It is HUGE and gorgeous!
These are the pictures on our way through Cimarron Canyon this morning.
The fire was pretty close to Eagle's Nest but only about 1/2 a mile was burned by the road, so it must've gone pretty high into the mountains.
Honestly, the damage that the firefighters did to tree's along the road to stop the fire from spreading looked horrible!  And the places that they had done it, the fire never went near.
I'm just certainly glad it didn't do more damage!  Cimarron Canyon is so pretty and I would hate to see it all destroyed.
We had a great time and didn't want to come home!  Hopefully next time, the bear will not be there!!
