The Faces of a Happy Child!

Big Daddy had Friday off from the station, so him and Landry had a daddy day!  I've said how much Landry LOVES tools, it's more like an obsession.  See the drill to the right side of the pic?  That's Landry's drill.  Seriously.  Chris charges it for him and everything so it'll "work".  Majority of the time though, he still wants his daddy's.  We finally got a little "tool belt" from Lowes the other nite and he loves to be able to put all his tools in there.  Mom said for his 2nd birthday we could do a tools party, but we'd have to specify on the invites that if someone brought a gift it would have to be bought at Lowes, Home Depot, or the tool dept. at WalMart!  The kid is not satisfied with children's "play" tools.
Anywho, Landry's daddy is a slave driver and they worked non stop ALL. WEEKEND. LONG!!
Friday they took all the hardware off the door frames and finished working on the doors that had been put up already.  Saturday they finished hanging all my new doors!! And yesterday they painted the trim in our bedroom!  Whew, notice that I had no partaking in any of this?  hehe.

Saturday evening we were all outside playing and Landry kept trying to take off his diaper, now sometimes we let him run around naked outside so Chris took his diaper off.  Big Mistake.  He had a surprise in there!  We both got the giggles while I ran inside to get wipes.  After getting him cleaned up, I went inside to finish dinner dishes when my child came in dressed like this.
Daddy made his own diaper with paint rags! (And yes, they were new).  I thought it was hilarious!  And the first picture?  That's what Landry does most of the time when you tell him to smile!

I guess my two "boys" got hot yesterday afternoon because the next thing I know, they're both running through the sprinklers!  Landry loves the sprinklers!  Just look at his face throughout the pictures.  Pure joy.
I came back inside to work on some blankets for miss Ansley and once again, my child came inside like this.  This time they decided he needed "suspenders".  Oh my y'all, I promise we're not white trash, but I think it's just too funny.
Landry (with a little bit of Grammy's help!) made this last week for Ansley's nursery.  They turned his handprints into flowers!  Is it not the most precious thing?  I love it!
These were my projects yesterday.  I have a lot of minky material, so I made 2 more blankets and another taggie.  Sorry the picture stink, I took them on my phone to show mom.
Taggie and matching blanket.

Ansley update:  Seeing as how I go to the doctor weekly now, I had an appt. last week!  We had a quick little sono in the office to get some measurements and her position.  She's head down now (kinda) with her bottom on my left side and hands/feet on my right side.  She measured a little over 39 weeks (um, eesh since I was only 36)  and weighed in at 7.5 lbs.  Doctor Robert said I may not make it to her birthday!  We shall see!  I certainly hope she does, i'm still not ready yet....

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

The Big Reveal's!

I took some pictures of Ansley's nursery and Landry's big boy room!  Like I said, there are still little things that need to be hung and such, but majority of everything is complete!

This is Ansley's quilt!  You can't tell in the picture but there is a ruffled ribbon running along the black dotted fabric.  I LOVE how the bedding turned out!  Thanks mom for making everything!
A few more of mom's blankets!  Landry has several of these that she has made and they are by far his favorite!  I hope Ansley loves her just as much!
This was Landry's crib! I don't think many people were on board with painting all the furniture black, but I could not be happier with how everything turned out!  I think it looks awesome!
The dresser's were originally my mom's when she was little and they are what I used growing up.  They used to be white.  I also LOVE how they turned out!  I plan on putting glass knobs on the drawers, but Lowe's hasn't got anymore in!  Oh, and do you LOVE the lime green rug?  I think it makes the room!  My dad kept telling me how horrible it was gonna look and blah blah blah, and now he loves the rug the most!
Big Brother Landry showing off the rag quilts that mom (pink) and I (polka dotted) made!
The curtains mom made!  Aren't they great?  She also made the flamingo painting.  In case you don't know, I have a crazy obsession with flamingos.  She surprised me with this a few weeks ago and even though i'm in love with the bedding and curtains, I really think the flamingo painting might be my favorite!  She also has a pearl necklace on!  PS. Kim, I can't wait for Ansley to be able to wear the flamingo outfit ya'll sent her!  hehe, there will be a picture! :)
The taggie and matching blanket I made.
Can you see her pearl necklace? :)
Changing table that used to be Landry's as well!

And finally.... here is Landry's BIG  BOY ROOM!
He loves his room and is so proud to show anyone who is willing to see it!
I plan on ordering a fire station bell from Amazon at some point and hanging it above his bed.
Also, when he's a little older, his bed will face into the room and be centered under the faux brick that says Landry's fire station.
Here is his new dresser and his reading corner.  I haven't decided what to do with his giraffe from his nursery, so I just propped him up there for now!
And in case you didn't notice all the doors missing in the rooms, it's because our new ones are almost DONE!!

Here they are!  LOVE them!

Okay, so now that you've seen the kiddo's rooms, onto other pictures!
Have you ever seen or heard of these?  You put one of the tablets in the bathwater and it turns colors!  It comes with red, yellow, & blue tablets or you can mix them to make other colors.

I've been kinda nervous to try them, but the boys were at the house the other nite so I thought it would be a good chance to try them!  They choose blue and I think it's actually pretty cool!  It didn't stain my bathtub or any of the kids skin, so I consider it a success!
Do you notice that Harli had to sit in Uncle Terry's lap during bathtime?

On Saturday, I had Em, Ella, and Kaden meet me and Landry at mom & dad's to go swimming.  Landry had Kaden pushing him around in his car playing the music.  Anywho, Ella started "dancing," it was so funny!  The girl has rhythm!  She especially liked the rap song.
Then Landry dug through the cabinet that has all the pool stuff in it and found my flower swim cap that mom had got me and put it on by himself!  The video is nothing special, but he's hilarious in the cap!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

A little of this and that!

I haven't taken pictures in FOREVER!  So some of these are from my phone and some are from last nite when I finally got my camera out again!

This was from a few weeks ago.  I was laying out drying off after getting out of the pool, Landry started throwing a fit, so I moved to see what was wrong.  He climbed up there and took my spot!  I guess he needed the sun!
This is how I found Harli after dropping Landry off at school last week.  It's obviously a very hard life...
After hearing commotion in the dining room I went in there to see what was going on.  Low and behold, the dog was on the table.  I like her look "uh, am I in trouble?"
Throwing his diaper away on his was to school.
We got LOTS of rain last week, this is WalMart lake. I seriously think it was up at least 12 feet.  It usually looks so horrible and the morning after the rains you couldn't even see the sidewalks, the road into it, or the parking lot!  It's already gone down a lot!
And finally.  We bought all new interior doors for our house.  Big Daddy and Landry had to work on some of the old ones last nite.  Landry LOVES tools.  Last week when we went to order the doors, we let him get himself a new tool, so he got a new tape measure.  If you'll notice, he's wearing on his shorts like his daddy does.
He also has his own drill.  Granted it's Chris' old one, but he'll charge it for him and everything, and Landry will carry it around and "work" on things for hours.
A real working man!
I know she looks cute, but believe me, looks are very deceiving.
Showing daddy how to measure the old door.
Obviously daddy doesn't understand
Harli just kept staring at me, so I thought I'd show you that she was "helping" too!

On the baby note.  Ansley's room is ready!  I need to do a few more things and I'll take pictures to show.  I LOVE how it turned out.  I think it's perfect.  I also have a few more things to hang in Landry's big boy room and i'll show you that too!
Ansley's birthday has been scheduled and I'm starting to get really nervous.  Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

Sorry for all the randomness! Hope you enjoyed it!

Happy 4th of July!

Landry's "school" celebrated the 4th of July today!  They had a little parade around the playground this afternoon, so we all went to watch! It sprinkled off and on during it but I think everyone had a great time!

Mrs. Tina and Ms. Alex with Landry's class
They didn't realize til they were outside that the kids were facing the wrong direction!
I got Landry out of the wagon so him and the boys all joined in the parage with Grampy
Aren't they cute!
Each class made something for the parade.  Landry's class made the blue flags to wave.  And he also colored the flag picture!  Needless to say, he has quite a bit of blue marker on him! :)
Here's a little video of the boys finishing up the parade.  Notice my child face plant at the very end.  Don't worry, he's fine.  Sometimes his feet go faster than his body!

Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend! Stay safe! And don't forget to celebrate the reason for this holiday!

A special thank you to all the men and women of this country who fight for our freedom and to all the families who have lost a loved one defending our freedom!
I am so thankful to live in this nation!
