Mountain Time Fun!

We spent the past few days in the mountains! It was a great time had by all!

Landry loved getting to see Angel Fire's ladder truck around town on  Saturday.  I think the firemen were trying to learn how to use it!

Saturday we went to Eagle's Nest.  Savanna and me went in my favorite little store that sells stones to make necklaces with (and I think the lady who owns it is funny - and crazy... literally).  Anywho, she was telling us how Sean Penn was in town filming his new movie up in Idlewild (where our old cabin was).  Needless to say, we went on a paparazzi mission.  We found the area where filming was, and these pictures are at the RV park where the dressing rooms, trailers and catering van were.

Dressing Rooms

His very own catering van!

We never actually saw Sean Penn, which was a bummer, and I think I embarassed Chris, but it was cool to see everything!

And this is some creepy tent that Savanna was intrigued by! Weird, I know!

We spent some time at the park, which of course Landry loved!

Going...

Going....

Gone.

Savanna convinced him to go down the giant slide, and after the first time down, he just wanted to go again and again.  Savanna and me were worn out!

We had to force him to go down the "baby slides" so we could have a break!

Saturday evening Rene, Josh, Collin, & Quinn came up, so Sunday was full of the boys playing HARD!!

We saw Steve the squirrel.

And all the gorgeous leaves changing.

Took Ansley to see the log for the first time! She loved it! (can't you tell?!)

The 8th Wonder of the World.

Landry was wired on our way home today.  He talked and sang and played hide and seek the whole way home!

Where's Landry??

There he is!!
We had a wonderful weekend! It was great to get away for a few days, but now it's back to reality!!

  1. I'm glad Ansley got introduced to your favorite log. I'm sure the kids will love it as much as you do. The boys look like they had fun in the "woods".

  2. TORI, that brings back memories when we took our little girls and then our grandchildren to the log. Remember how cold the water was to wade in and the bow and arrows that Grandpa made for you four grandchildren. You all got your picture made with an Indian while at their village. I loved seeing the boys having a great time at the cabin.

  3. Looks like everyone had a great time. I think you need a big slide in your backyard. Maybe you should add it to your Christmas wish list.

  4. Love the colors! So jealous that you guys are close enough to make those trips. Not sure my kids will ever get to see the log.
