Private?

I'm thinking of going private for awhile.
I know it's mainly family who reads this, but if for some reason you keep up with this dinky blog, please leave your name & e-mail in the comments so I can invite you should I choose to go this route!  Also, I'd LOVE to know where you're reading from! Thanks so much.

Water fun and sleepovers!

The kids have been having lots of fun playing in the water the last few (hot!) days.  Landry is really loving Chris' "fire hose" nozzle on the water hose, so that has provided hours of endless fun!

Monday nite the boys stayed with us, so of course they all played outside.
This was Landry's first official sleepover!  They've stayed with us before but this time Landry got to sleep on a pallet in the living room with them!  He had a great time!  Although Tuesday at MDO, he did sleep majority of the day!
Chris had Tuesday off from the station, so him and the boys tore down and put up all new sheetrock in the garage.  The boys were so excited that Chris bought them new gloves and they got to actually work and not just play.  Keevan had to measure the rock, Chris would cut it and then both Keevan and Kaleb would screw it up to the wall.  It looks so much better already!  I was shocked at the difference.
Needless to say, they wanted to stay the nite last nite too.  Instead of just playing in the water though, they soaked the sand with water and played in the mud.

I don't know if I've ever seen 3 boys so dirty.  It took a wash down outside, 2 baths and a shower to get them clean! They all had a blast though!
I definitely see more sleepovers in our near future!
Hope everyone is staying cool!

Water Day

This is pretty much how we spend our evenings around here.  Lots and lots of water!

Landry had to have his teeth worked on yesterday morning and had to be “put to sleep” for it, and we told him if he did real good, he’d get a few surprises.  He actually did really good except the whole waking up part and he turned into the Incredible Hulk again.  So when Big Daddy got home from work yesterday, he was loaded with surprises for Landry.  A new (huge) water gun, a Lightning McQueen car, a firetruck movie and a doll for sister.

Needless to say, they had to test out the water gun immediately and spent the rest of the night outside. Bless his heart, when it was full, he couldn’t even pick it up.

Harli HATES being squirted, so she tries to hide the whole time

And unless the little miss is in the midst of being sprayed you’ll find her eating leaves (or dog food).

This is what you get when you ask him to smile.

and this would be when the water was turned on me

This is how Harli takes naps.  While we eat dinner, she rests her head on the bench and sleeps, I guess last nite she was too tired to just lay down.

Both babies LOVE bathtime.  I think they’d stay in there all day if we’d let them!

10 Months

Sweet baby girl, you are 10 months old!

10months 002

You still wear size 3 diapers and are now in either 12 or 18 month size clothing!  You’re feet are still at the odd size between a 2 and a 3, so it’s hard sometimes to find a pair to fit you.

10months 003

You’ve learned to wave and will usually say your form of hi or bye (which typically sounds like a grunt of some sort).  You’ve also learned to clap in the last few days.

10months 006

You have no desire to sit still, you like to go at all times.  You pull yourself up and stand on everything.  If you have enough courage, a few times you’ve let go and stood by yourself, although I don’t have intentions of you walking anytime soon (I think you might think it’s too much work!) and besides, you can bear crawl faster than I can walk.

10months 009

Pictures of you are near to impossible! So majority of what I take these days are of your hiney!

10months 010

You still only have 2 teeth.  Some days I think you’re teething, but there’s no site of any more teeth!  You have bit me a few times and the 2 teeth you do have are still extremely sharp.

10months 012

Although you seem to get mad easily, you have the sweetest personality.  You seem to always be smiling.

10months 014

You eat pretty much anything we give you, but your favorites seem to be steak (a girl after her daddies heart!), pork chops, and chicken.

10months 016

As every month prior to this one, the same goes, your brother is still your favorite person.  I think your favorite thing at this age is to wrestle with him.  You don’t hold anything back and he lets you get away with quite a bit.

10months 019

I cannot believe you will be a year old in 2 short months.  I have got to start working on your party, but I have too many cute things tagged and can’t seem to make up my mind!

10months 020

We love you sweet girl!  You completed our family and we are so lucky to have you!  We look forward to watching you continue to grow and learn new things daily, it’s just as exciting for us as it is for  you!  Love you baby girl!

Wildfires

Due to all the wind in our area lately, and complete lack of rain, we’ve been dealing with lots of wildfires.  Last weekend was horrible, it literally felt like our whole town was on fire.  There was fires pretty much everywhere, north of town, south of town, east of town.  Monday morning mom, me and the kids rode around and looked at a little of the damage.

This is where the fire on the north side of town started.  A car broke down and sparked, the fire immediately jumped the highway and took off.

For as far as your eye could see, was black.

Luckily, the few houses right here were saved.  How, I don’t know.  The fire went all the way around the houses, needless to say, the fireman were definitely doing their jobs.  Notice Landry’s school in the distance? It was originally the “safe” place for all the evacuee’s to go to, but when the fire kept going, they had to change churches.  Landry’s school then became the headquarters for the National Forest Service and all of the fire stations for around the area to meet.

Here’s where the fire got some houses.  The only thing left of them were their fireplaces.

Across the street from where the fire stopped (pictured here) is a whole entire housing development and a school.  My dad’s buddies house is the second house from the street and the fire came within about 100 ft. from their house.  If it would’ve skipped the road, the whole area probably would’ve been lost.

These are from the fire south of town, not far from where we used to live at the lake.  Most of it was down in the canyon and burned houses in it.

This house was super lucky.  The fire burned up to the backyard and around their gazebo, but didn’t touch the house.

We are in desperate need of rain.  In no way do I want the storms that have plagued the eastern states, but a few days of rain showers, I’d take.  Pray for rain!
